Enter the disorientating and darkly humorous worlds created by multimedia artist LuYang (b. 1984, Shanghai) for their first UK solo exhibition. Immersed in the cultures of anime, video games and sci-fi, LuYang combines Buddhism, neuroscience and digital technology to investigate the mysteries and mechanics of the human body and mind.

Gery Georgieva UWU CHANNEL RADIANCE

Through research into Cubitt’s extensive archive of the organization’s 30-year history, an algorithm was developed from past data sets in collaboration with Black Shuck, a UK based co-operative producing digital projects. Gery Georgieva’s UWU Channel Radiance employs the algorithm’s speculative look at Cubitt’s archive in determining her own uncertain future.

Interstitial

Founded in 2015, Interstitial, a 500-square-foot gallery space in Seattle, Washington, focused on solo exhibitions by local, national, and international new media artists. Interstitial presented over 25 site-specific installations and received national attention as a leading resource for time-based media.

Among the Machines

Among the Machines is a major new exhibition of works examining how humans interact with machines and non-human entities, featuring new augmented reality artworks created in direct response to the gallery space. As artificial intelligence (AI) develops to potentially surpass us, this exhibition asks: how will we respond to a stage of evolution beyond the human?

Joey Holder presents Semelparous, a site-specific installation in the Pool and Spa of the now-closed Springhealth Leisure Center. Through decimated research of the European Eels complex migration, reproduction, and biological makeup, Holder examines the irreplicable forces of the natural world.
