Invites
Zabludowicz Collection invites
Zabludowicz Collection Invites was a long-running programme dedicated to solo presentations by UK-based artists who did not have representation by a UK commercial gallery. The programme actively sought out and supported artists whose work may not fit comfortably within the commercial gallery model, championing conceptually driven, time-based, and underrepresented practices.
I led the curation of the programme, from artist selection to exhibition development, working closely with each artist to shape new commissions. Each invited artist received a fee, curatorial support, a published interview and leaflet, and a self-led public event or activation. I prioritised a collaborative approach, supporting artists in bringing ambitious, experimental work into the gallery—often for the first time.
Over a decade at 176 Prince of Wales Road—a modest, idiosyncratic space—Invites became known for its commitment to emerging practices and alternative modes of exhibition-making. Through careful selection and close artist collaboration, the programme captured a vital cross-section of contemporary UK art: diverse, risk-taking, and often overlooked elsewhere.
